Thumb Typing, What Would Our Grandparents Think?

For those of us tagging on to the end of the baby boomer crowd, the concept of thumb-typing and texting in general can be a daunting task.  One has to keep in mind that this crowd remembers party lines, cheap gas, expensive gas, cheap gas again, fear of Russian attack, and a whole slew of other scary, alarming, and just plain odd things.  So, we're not opposed to the unusual, we are after all, the generation who brought marijuana to the top of the list of "Just Say No!" Campaigns, were the last generation to have both of our parents in our home at the same time and many more shocking achievements.  How, then, can the effort of trying to type using only one's thumbs be such a big deal?  We saw men on the moon (may not have believed he got there, perhaps the government was tricking us, etc, but we saw it), we saw chain gangs, we maybe even heard stories of people who knew people who knew the KKK.  Just craziness.  So, deciding that I was much tougher than this Texting Giant that was keeping me out of communication and thus uninformed, I decided to do my blog using only my thumbs.  How did I do?  Well, you never saw the blog.  I never got it uploaded because my thumbs were cramping me so bad I thought I would die!

Sometimes you just gotta know when you've been beaten.  I will be doing all future blogs on an actual keyboard, with real keys, using all my fingers.  It just makes sense that way!

Do you have a funny story about thumb-typing or mobile communication?  Share them!  It would comfort me to know I am not alone!

Repurposed Computers Save Hundreds AND The Environment

In today's economy, saving money has become top priority in everyone's mind, it seems. At TNLaptop we are listening to the struggles of our customers and are launching a campaign with which to provide customers with a free remote session to diagnose, clean viruses, clean system clutter, reorganize your registry and get your computer running at peak performance again. Spam and spyware/adware are a huge problem and can clutter your hard drive and bog your machine down until it sounds like greatgrandfather's 2 stroke John Deere and runs about as fast. We are taking used computers for recycling in exchange for this service. "We want our customers to be happy with their computers and nothing makes for a more frustrating computing session than a slow grinding computer. Anyone interested can contact us at www.tnlaptop.com/recyclecampaign, via telephone at (865) 366-0001 or email us at recycle@tnlaptop.com. We will be happy to quote a trade in on any of our used inventory as well. We currently have some Dells, Toshibas, and some HP/Compaq machines. Contact us today for an opportunity to move that clutter and have something productive in it's place!
